I do not understand copyright. What about all those "tribute" bands. Surely have to pay the original band about $ Thanks Nick
If you play it for free, just cozy with friends, you need not pay. But if you play it at a concert where tickets were sold, then you should pay royalties. tribute bands filling out a form PRS (Performing Right Society) and they do so in order to pay royalties, by the organizer of the concert.
