Guitar Pro is the most popular of the software available for editing guitar tabs. As we all know guitar tab is actually a photo of the six strings with fret numbers, the guitarist we are fingers on the button plus various other symbols left hand techniques.
First let's look at the most basic way of writing guitar tab - the text editor. Notepad or another text editor is able to write guitar tab. Guitar, bass and banjo tabs are written in ASCII format. Most of the tabs found on the Internet are written in ASCII format. In ASCII tab hyphens are used to string lines and numbers represent frets show. Other elements such as bar lines, rhythms, bends, chord symbols can be displayed in many ways. Guitar Pro and other guitar tablature programs generate comparable to ASCII files, but as you want to edit a hand-made ASCII tab you need to do this manually.

You can download the free trial version of TablEdit and infinite, as long as you can put up with the nag messages and the fact you can not save edited tabs.
TuxGuitar is an open-source software for writing and playing a number of tablature formats. TuxGuitar has many useful functions such as editing tabs and scores, autoscroll while playing music, effects like bends, slides, vibrato, hammer-ons and pull-offs. With TuxGuitar can also manage tempo and time signature. A bonus is that you can import and export files from Guitar Pro versions 4 and 5.
The big disadvantage with reading, writing guitar music using of tablature has always been the fact that tab does not show tempo and rhythm. This means that unless you are familiar with the piece of music you are learning, you may struggle to the right note values and rhythm. With guitar tab software this problem is eliminated because even if you work from imported ASCII tab the software tells you how the piece sounds like through the MIDI playback and includes standard notation. My advice is for all programs to download and try them out which one is best for you to see. for the most recent version of these programs, just an internet search by product name.
