Harmonica - 12 Bar Blues?
I got a Hohner blues harp in the key of C before Christmas, and I'm really interested in learning (which I understand are) 12 bar blues on the harmonica. Ideally, what I'm looking for tabs of old slow blues numbers, but those breaks in them, where would you place your bluesy texts. I too am looking for Harmonica it uses tabs, so any help is greatly appreciated.
The most common way of blues harp playing is what is known as the "second" or "cross harp. "The simplest explanation is that you will play a key a fifth above the actual key of the harp. It all comes down to learning your instrument by first learning to play the others duplicate, which is exactly what tabs easier. The key is to play with your ears, your bowels, your heart and your head as you learn from any source, so you end your voice. The video you mentioned is pretty lame, stereotypical depiction of blues harp, but there are hundreds of blues recordings that are similar. I can not point you to a specific tab for what is played in the video is just generic, cross harp solo. Instead of focusing on a tab, you the basics of blues harp playing to learn. With a little effort, you wont need a tab to play like the video, it will be a natural part of playing blues harp. The point would be like someone who got a guitar for Christmas in the direction of a tab if they have not learned how to tune the guitar or even.
