Is it easy to learn the harmonica?
I suddenly feel the urge to get a harmonica. No idea why, but why not? Event to anyone who knows not, I repeat NOT "think") How difficult is it to get the hang of the basics? I've heard that there are different styles and I take my blues would be, but im not sure.
Harmonica is probably one of the easier instruments to play out there and they are really nice, but a good style is it takes a little practice. You want to start, as mentioned above answerer, by getting a Hohner 10 hole diatonic harmonica in the key of G or E if you want a good blues sound. C tends to a bit on the dull side, while the crosses in the key of E and G makes them sound a bit more dynamic. What learn you just need a sound is blowing, but good played you practice the breathing and tonguing techniques.
