Bob Dylan, and large-Scotch is an acquired taste. Yes, his voice is "nasally." Yes, his inflection is strange. Yes, it can be difficult to understand the way off-key. Still, his sound, his instrumentation and especially his songs can rescue the ears of those who learn to appreciate it. However, his discography is more than 30 albums deep. People looking for Dylan discover does not even know where to start when attempting to listen to him. Of course you can pull out a Greatest Hits album, but that alone will do the same songs you already heard on radio "Like A Rolling Stone" and "Rainy Day Women # 12 and # 35." So, Dylan really appreciate it makes sense to listen to his best albums from start to end. So, what album do you start?
For the new Dylan listener, we recommend beginning with Bringing It All Back Home. Why? Well, it has a little something for everyone. There's straight up rock and roll: "Subterranean Homesick Blues" and "Maggie's Farm" is acoustic folk: "Mr. Tambourine Man," " Love Minus Zero / No Limit "and" It's All Over Now, Baby Blue - Every Dylan signature harmonica bits. There is a bluesy rocker, "Outlaw Blues" and even a few comic songs like "On the Road Again" and "Bob Dylan's 115th Dream", which is certainly the first time listener to warm sense of irony Dylan humor.
The other enticing songs on this album are addictive, stream of consciousness songs like "It's All Right Ma, I'm only Bleeding" and "Gates of Eden." These songs have the ability to virgin ears Dylan hit like a Mack truck - home of his ability to pounding the right thing at the wrong time say-with a cynicism and sincerity that is enchanting.
