Great Harmonica Music

How exactly do I go about recording music?

I play guitar (electric and acoustic (not electric, so that would be miked)), harmonica, and penny whistle. I want to write music, and to do it, I want guitar, harmonica, whistle and vocals and some drums there as a good way to capture. Can someone maybe walk me through exactly how I would go about doing this, all I would buy the recording to do, and I mean everything, every cable and microphone, and preferably, I 'm looking for something outside, not on the computer. It would be really great if someone could give me the list of things I should do. Thanks! xgoz, thank you very much for your response, it looks really informative, but if possible, you might shave off some of the things I would not necessarily need (I would have given im only 16 and I need no fancy things like a channel board or something, I'm just recording for myself, not to produce or sell) I'd really appreciate

What you need. External Digital recorder (Roland, Fostex, Mackie) 8 to 16 channel mixer board microphones (Shure's 57 ot 58's) Good quality microphones Microphones Cables 1 / 4 instrument cables Microphones windshield / wind poppers Monitors Monitor cables aboard mixing 100 watt amp (minimum) amplifier cables Headphone mixer XGoz producer / songwriter
