Jazz harmonica?
Who are some good jazz (preferably jazz fusion) harmonica players?
Howard Levy, the former member of Bela Fleck's Fleck Tones, probably the most like what you want. Lee Oskar, one of the founding members of the group War, may also qualify, as Stevie Wonder (real a distinctive sense of phrasing that is an extension of his voice). In a pre-fusion vein, check out Theilemans Toots (who also plays guitar and flute, a great artist who recorded Yahoo has played with George Shearing, Jaco Pastorius, and even Billy Joel) and Hendrik Meurkens.
