Fun Halloween Treat Ideas for 2009: Healthy Treats for Halloween
Candy, has been associated with Halloween for centuries, also been associated with health as spikes in sugar levels, weight gain and to things like diabetes and decay of our teeth. However, there are other Halloween treat ideas for you from your hand trick-or-Treaters. We can all ensure that our children enjoy these Halloween treats that they will not harm or affect their health.
After numerous conversations with children In my family, their friends and their buddies classroom I have come with a list of treats the children would enjoy just as much, if not more, than Halloween candy.
Healthy Snacks:
Raisins or other dried fruit packages
Bags of homemade trail mix
Mixed nuts can also be mixed with raisins or dried cranberries
Apples can be decorated with small narrow spiders that you can attach to the stem
Bananas and oranges can be decorated Halloween with painted faces
Other Great Treats:

Wax teeth and mustaches are a hit at Halloween as long as I can remember
Small wind-up toys to jump and move in many different ways - many adults have collected since they were children

Sidewalk Chalk - ideal for Hop Scotch and drawing pictures on the sidewalk or driveway

Many of your local party stores will Halloween party favor bags. Some of them have miniature harmonicas and other fun toys in them. I take these bags and use the content individually for the trick-or-Treaters. Kids love Halloween candy and they get a lot of other fun and playful treats in their pockets.
With the thousands of children who can not sweets due to health such as diabetes or eating food, it is important to have alternatives to Halloween candy, so they can enjoy the holiday.
I am planning to out candy, both regular and sugar-free, but I also plan to have many other treats for the children or they simply can not eat the candy prefer. Why would they are left out when so many easy ways to include them in the Halloween spirit?
