What Hohner harmonica should I buy?

A Marine Band, Marine Band Hohner Special 20 or blues harp?

All Hohner hand mades noise somewhat similar. The reeds are the same on the Marine Band, Special 20, and the Golden Melody. If you are smooth and able to tune and repair a harmonica with no problems then the Marine Band should be OK. It is put together with nails and wood screws. If you are new to the violin when they are in harmony, you can void the warranty. I live at high altitude and have better luck wooden combs because they distribute heat better and therefore condensation. The Special 20 and Golden Melody are brought together with screws and bolts + nuts. 20 and the special Golden Melody have plastic combs which are durable, safe and easy to handle. Special 20s are probably the best harps in the market for blowing chords. Gold melodies have excellent reed plates that are not great for the tongue-blockers. But they work very well for about draws. Golden Melodies are in equal temperament, which is better for some notes rather than chords. You can also tuning yourself as you smooth. If you are a beginner, fast and stupid response to 20 receive a special, or a Lee Oskar. The vast majority of the professionals give the same advice. After you have developed a well defined style, different brands and models will appear. Write me if you experienced a PLAYER with a certain idea of what you want and I'll tell you what you will do best with. Want to study Coast2Coastmusic.com harmonicas and read reviews and ratings customer. They are very customer oriented. The other rational place to buy your harmonica is harpdepot.com. Expect to spend about 10 cents an hour to play the harmonica, if you do not repair and tune them yourself. Prepare yourself for a lot of answers to question what is better, wood or plastic. Besides the heat distribution qualities and beauty of wood, there is no difference in sound. The shape within the harmonica, etc, make the sound. Special 20 Marine Band sound and do something else for these reasons. The Blues Harp MS is a modular system for harmonica. They come with the replacement of reeds and plates together so that an amateur can fix. Hohner sells two types of harmonica. 1. The above three hand mades. 2. MS models, including Blues Harp combed the wood. Quick and stupid answer is that all professionals agree that the hand mades have superior cane compared with the MS models. Of course, a professional likely to tune and repair a harmonica without the benefit of replacement parts. Lee Oskar also replacement parts, and like the Golden Melody, they are great for blowing single notes. They must be well aligned yourself if you're going to play chords. Lee Oskars are freakishly durable even without the spare parts, which is why professionals that they themselves can tune love them so much. They are usually recommended for beginners because beginners, [and a few professionals] are rarely in playing chords. Like all harmonicas made in the Orient [Lee Oskar and Suzuki are made in Japan, Cheap Chinese are a no-go], I can not exaggerate the thin reed without rolling my tongue into a tube. I can do flat tongue draws on western harps, Hohner like [hand mades], and Seydel Herings. Hohner and Seydel are made in Germany. Seydel have no condensation problems and can be gapped very tightly to make turns and sprinkle / pulls absolutely amazing. Their agreements are up there with the special 20. Seydel harps are of the highest quality in the world. 1847.com Herings made in Brazil and a beautiful sound at a low price. But they are built and maintained by third world labor. If you do not mind being an outsider bad harp, Herings have a go. I recommend the Model 1923. It is absolutely beautiful to see, and also plays beautiful chords. These are the six places in the world where harmonicas are produced.
