Did I Just Ruin my Harmonica?
I have a 12 Hole # 364 Marine Band diatonic harmonica in the Key of C for approximately 2 years (Reed Wood - Antique style building. This harmonica has been wonderful and today I had the idea to perform some water though, just kept it in the water flow for about 2 seconds (just enough for water through flows) and now about 2 hours later, I have problems. Now the 6th Reed Blow Note (G) will not sound with a regular battle, only with less blowing (which sounds very quiet when you do the same amount of the battle to the other reeds. The puzzling thing is that if I pull on the 6th Reed Draw Note (A) it sounds good, just as it should. Should I leave the dry harmonica, or I just ruin it? All other notes sound perfect, all except the 6th Note Blow (G)
Allow to dry or blow on your hand a few times. Water is still in the room and as you breathe, it comes out and the sound is not good.
