We Want To Learn To Play The Harmonica!
The humble harmonica has as one of the easiest musical instruments to master in the world. Okay, so there are some great Folk and Blues musicians out there that can make this little mouth piece talk their own language, but what I am talking about is for Joe Average without a musical bone in his body, to knock a tune in no time at all. What other instrument can you do? You really can learn how to play harmonica in a matter of days or weeks, depending on your deployment.
Most tools do you need a book for beginners, or if you really excited, a tutor or perhaps join a local class, so you ahead can get your strum, blow, pluck, or hit, depending on what you are trying to control. But with the big mouth organ full of holes, there is no learning curve. Just a pick-up your local music store and learn to play the harmonica away.
I remember the time I ever bought my first harmonica. It was back in the 1980s when I was away Bumming around the world, I made a fascination for the sounds and notes that could be picked by this musical mouthpiece. It all started when I came across this Danish couple who travel by West Asia.
Tucked away in their backpacks were an Irish tin whistle and harmonica tuppeny Ha'Penny. After dinner one evening, on the edge of the Chitwan jungle of Nepal, they began to entertain a small group of us happy hippies with their music. It was at this moment in time that I fell in love, and made a decision to, learning the harmonica play.
It was several weeks later before I found a place to purchase one. Oddly enough, there is not much call for music stores in the foothills of the Himalayas or along the swamps of India, so it was not until I arrived in Georgetown on the Malaysian island of Penang, which I found a rickety little shop that was on sale for only harmonica two U.S. dollars each. I could hardly wait to begin, and so rushed off excitedly to my dirty house where I started to lean to my new toy.
It was a great company on my travels. The first tune I was knocked to the Christmas carol 'Silent Night'. Well it was December! But soon afterwards I was doing little impressive instrumental and jam sessions with fellow travelers who were trudging the circuit with bulky guitars strapped to their backs.

If you are truly a talent for hand harp, you would then progress to Chicago Blues, Country, Bluegrass, Folk, or some even say your own unique style. Good luck!
