You might wonder who perform the embalming. Is the undertaker or is it a specific embalmer. The role of an undertaker and an embalmer are very definitely not the same. Typically, a funeral director is a person who arranges for the final funeral, burial or cremation of the deceased. The funeral is very often the person we designate as the funeral and in some places there is a further distinction between the two jobs.

The embalmer is typically a specialist with extensive training in the practice of embalming, which is considered both an art and a science. The embalmers training will lead to very intensive study of anatomy, Thanatology (the study of death), chemistry and embalming practices and very often an internship in a funeral parlor, which is followed by formal testing, and almost exclusively (especially in the United States), permits. Laws regarding the level of training necessary to be a practicing embalmer vary from place to place.

Embalming practices also vary from country to country or religious practice, religious practice. We will concentrate on the most prominent embalming practices in the western world. Here's some step embalming process, which strongly has evolved over time and can still improve by a careful study and research.

The following spells out the steps typical of the most common techniques embalming. Yet we must remember that these techniques often differ from place to place. Some find the following discussion are graphic or uncomfortable.

The process of embalming always begins with the identification of the body (most usually by checking the wrist or arm tags. Then the embalmer continues by ensuring that in fact deceased person is genuine.

Very often, a cloth placed over the belly of the corpse in the interest of modesty. Then the residue washed in special disinfectant solutions. During this process, the embalmer massages and bend the arms and legs of the deceased to the effects of rigor mortis burden.

In death, the jaw end limp without the muscles needed to keep your mouth shut. The embalmer The next task is to identify and close the mouth. The mouth can be closed in different ways. Mostly is closed by suturing with a needle and ligature. Sometimes the mouth is set using an adhesive. Other times, the mouth closed and posed in a life-like expression with stringing wire in the jaw with a needle injector.

Technical embalming most often occurs in four stages.

These are:

1. Arterial embalming. This is the injection of embalming chemicals into the bloodstream, usually by direct injection into the right carotid artery (in the neck). This replaces the blood in the veins with embalming chemicals. The injection of embalming solution is achieved by using a pump, while the embalmer massages the body in an attempt to break up of clots in the bloodstream and to ensure that the embalming fluid is properly distributed. If the deceased was suffering from circulatory problems, it is often necessary for the embalmer to different points of injection use.

2. Cavity for embalming. This keeps the suction of internal fluids and the injection of embalming chemicals into body cavities. During this process the body cavities are injected with concentrated chemicals that contain formaldehyde.

3. Hypodermic embalming, the injection of embalming chemicals substances under the skin.

4. Surface embalming, a method is particularly visible injured body parts.

Typically, the process of embalming takes about two hours. The process may take longer in cases where there is a need for a comprehensive reconstruction of the facial features (after an accident, for example).

You must not forget that a person will always look different after they are deceased. The very things that we look in our life are gone when we pass. The lack of breath, lack of muscle movements, regulating the blood in the body all contribute to making the deceased look quite different than you remember them.
