Texas Harmonica Greats

What I missed at the State Fair of Texas

The Texas State Fair of Texas, is one of the largest and most diverse in the world. Even though it's a hassle to get there and tiring too, because of its large area, its definitely worth it, once you arrive.

I did not go this year, but after reading an article by Eric Aasen, Writer of Staff of the Dallas Morning News, I realized that I really something special, that was absent from the Fair nine years missed:
Billy Roy Switzer and his One Man Band.

Switzer uses his head, feet, legs, mouths and hands to play instruments TEN (in recent years, he has played twelve, but there was not enough room for two further this year.

The instruments he plays the piano , bass drum, snare drums, keyboard bass, cymbal, tambourine, harmonica, half pelvis, a washboard and cowbell.

Billy Roy plays 152 concerts during the fair this year, and earlier appeared at the State Fair of Texas nearly twenty years, until he was nine years out of concern for his wife when she became ill.

His regular performance schedule is hourly from s noon to five hours, with an extra show on Saturday and six hours on Sunday - and he enjoys performing as much as the audience does, listen.

I'm not sure what he gets paid, but it needs a lot less than a ten-piece band would cost!

One can not help but admire Billy Roy as a typical example of what a person can do with their imagination, ingenuity and energy! So hats off to you, Billy Roy. We hope to see you next year at the State Fair of Texas!

But his example does not only apply to musical instruments , but almost every activity under the Sun With the same imagination, resourcefulness and energy, people have invented and made amazing achievements in the history.

Each of us has the same ability to achieve similar goals reach as Billy Roy, if we just open our minds to things that are important for us and apply imagination, ingenuity and energy. So this is your payment to get to your goal to excel in one of your interests, that is lying dormant for too long!

So crank your special imagination, ingenuity and energy and really contribute something amazing to the world people around you.
