Do you like music? Are you looking for the perfect instrument to start learning on? Whether you're musically inclined or not, there is no better instrument to start than the harmonica! A beginner harmonica is cheap, easy to learn and is the ultimate portable instrument.
Before you run out and buy your own novice harmonica, please let a time to talk about the three basic types of harmonica:
1. Diatonic harmonica - the first type of thinking that created the harmonica, diatonic's have only 10 holes and are perfect for beginners!
2. Tremolo Harmonica - a large harmonic (or harp), which has double holes placed together. It is a great choice for traditional music, but is more advanced that the diatonic harp.
3. Chromatic Harmonica - The most advanced of the three, the Chromatic was designed to fill in the missing notes of the diatonic.
For beginner harmonica the best place to start is with a diatonic harp, by preferably in C major (available at the box or stamped directly on the harp). Most elementary harps will cost you between $ 5-20. You do not bother to much more expensive models, but they are better suited for the more advanced (and serious) harp players.
After purchasing new harp, you should be aware of the two simple rules to help your harp last for the next years. One, always play your harp with a clean, dry mouth. And two, when you are finished playing, tap a few times to get rid of the moisture (saliva) left in the harp. It is not necessary for water to run through the wood as it can cause swelling and is generally bad for your harp.
Now that you've purchased your first harp and know the basis for helping to last you for years, you're ready to begin learning how to play!
